Molly Browning: A Brief Summary

Jesus was a character of senseless stories. Church was a rare event and conversations about God were kept at a minimum. Christians were the stereotypes; "goody goody's" or judgmental, condescending crowds. Then, like most of us who first start a relationship with Jesus, I was overwhelmed with the "Holy Spirit." For that first two weeks, I felt an imperishable connection to God daily. I got baptized and tried to eliminate my sins one by one. Thinking I'd forever feel this pull to read the Bible, pray, and attend church—it all came to a dissociated halt. Two years later, and I still am trying to connect with the Lord who I thought went quiet. That is why I have created these free guides for you to try. They have helped to open a new line of communication between Jesus and I. Try for yourself and establish "Gods Love Link" as an individual, with your partner, or as a community.

Prayer: Not Feeling It

I haven't prayed in three days. It's the stir of apprehension, then I realize it's been a prolonged time since I last reached out to our creator. A similar feeling; when one forgets to call their ninety-three year old grandma and it has been two months since you've last seen her. God only knows how much time she has left on earth. You stop what you are doing and scroll to find her contact, or, like me, convince yourself that you will make more of an effort and proceed to go on with your day. One week goes by, and doddering grandma—once again—is out of sight, out of mind. Unlike grandma, Jesus is never running out of time. He is always available, yet the wrongs I haven't acknowledged continue to weigh heavier and heavier.

In the Gospel of John, Jesus is resting near a well and asks a Samaritan woman for a drink of water. At the time, Jews and Samaritans avoided each other due to differences in religion and politics. Despite this, she was the first person that Jesus openly revealed himself as the Messiah. There are many powerful messages to this story, whilst it tells me that no matter how much time has slipped through my fingers, Jesus is patiently waiting. The Samaritan woman had multiple failed marriages. She was living with a man whom she was not married to. She was alone at the well during the hottest point in the day, which indicates she avoided others quite severely. Furthermore, never had a thought of Jesus in her life. Why would Jesus invite her to such a transformative discussion?

I haven't prayed in 3 days, and I may not feel like it for a few more. But just like grandma, He is looking forward to our next conversation.

Guides and templates

To get started, I would highly suggest printing the document. Having a hard copy will allow you to be free of distractions (aka your phone). I have designed each template for specific groups, but feel free to adapt or modify them to fit your situation.
